I am hooking up the extra sacs to my 2012 Vandall... I would like to clairify a few things as it appears this thread has taken a tour.
Before any disconections in the rear.... There are 4 butt connections. 2 on each side of the engine bay for each side(right, left)
Lets look at one side to avoid confusion. Factory connections have the fill pump going to a butt and onto the hard tank. Factory connections have the Hard tank vent(overfill) going to a butt then out the side of the boat.
To my understanding (one side rear): 1. I remove a butt connector. 2. The Fill pump goes to a butt connector then to hard tank fill port. 3. Rotate Hard tank connector and use short hose to connect to bottom of added fat sac. 4. Connect top of sac to vent out the side of boat.
Clairification of step 2: By having the butt connector higher than the sacs this will eliminate the ballast draining back into the lake. Clairification of step 1: Becuse the vent is above the ballast there is no need for additional butt connection.
Use same general configuration on front also: 1. Hook up fill to butt connection(locate inside storage area as high as possible) then to rear upper fitting on fat sac. 2. Hook up vent to top front 3. Hook up drain to rear lower
The butt connection is extra from the rear, put inline with the fill hose to eliminate gravity draining back into lake.
Or is the front butt suppose to be on the vent to avoid any bleeding back into the lake...??

I am wondering the same thing as Cooter is above...
Please tell me if mine sounds correct...
After looking at my rear bags hose from pump runs to hoop fitting, hose runs down to inlet fitting facing motor, hose comes from inlet pointing toward bow looping into bottom of fly high bag... other hose comes from behind the seat between the panel to the 1st fitting on the top of bag for vent...
Bow bag Jabsco hose to the top first fitting... long hose to the top 2nd fitting... and shorter hose to the bottom fitting for the drain...
Does this all sound correctly done... because I was kind of concerned after hearing the random filll and drain of the bow bag... ?????
My boat is a 2012 if that makes a difference since it does have an actual bow pump by itself.

the front bag drain problem was only on 9-10 models, they started using check valves in '11, you and cooter have it a little backwards, you want to go from the pump to the hoop on the seat back, this is the highest point and will keep the bags from draining, go from there straight to the top of the bag, then run a hose from the front lower port on the bag to the front of the tank, leave all the drains and vents alone, just fill the top of the bag and let gravity do the rest for you, all you need to do is move one hose and add another. Once you figure it out it takes less than 3 minutes to swap out the bags or do whatever you need to do.

Ed told me the guys at fly high said it could be done by heating the glue with a hair dryer and then removing the fitting but I'm not willing to guinea pig my bag, I'll just leave well enough alone.
