There's a few axis guys that ride the Trinity River north of Houston. "NastyA20" on this forum is pretty regular on this forum and he's around the Houston waterways. He also knows the other Axis guys. I'm in the Central Texas area and ride on Lake Belton

Trinity is not brackish water that far north of the gulf. Copperas Cove is not near the gulf area. It's pretty much the very heart of Texas.

We ride the Trinity and sometimes LSJ (lower San Jacinto) The LSJ can be brackish depending on rainfall during the summer. I've had my rig out there and it's been ok.
We're having a Fall Bash (gcwa.com) up at Trinity Sept 14th weekend. Several of the members are from your area. PM me if you're interested.
