I switched the fill and vent hose on the front pnp so that I could max out the amount of water that gets into that bag. Before I found that the area under the chill ax seats would fill with air as the bag began to bulge. Now, the bag bulges out of the chillax area and is water only.

So you have the vent hose connected at the fitting closest to the front of the boat or the fitting closest to the rear?

my fill line is closest to the bow of the boat under the bow filler seat cushions. My vent line is now at the rear fitting and can be seen when the chillax seats are in the up position. In addition I trimmed the hole/slot of the divider wall where the fill and vent hoses go behind the kick panel. It was 1" wide and only a couple inches off the floor of the bow pnp sack carpet floor. I trimmed that slot so that it goes all the way up to the base of the chillax seat support so that those hoses would not get kinked.

On the topic at hand, I rode today and payed more attention to how long the center tank and front pnp bag took to fill. The front pnp took considerably longer than the center tank, approx 2 minutes. Assuming both pumps are equal, that the 2 feet of elevation and more fill hose that the pnp bag needs does not affect fill time, and that the hard tank being at or below water level plays no role in fill times.... then my front pnp holds approx 750 lbs. Big assumptions, but thats as scientific as I will be getting.

I agree with Johnny here... If you make sure there is no air in the mushroom sack, it takes alot longer than the center sack!

Somebody with 750s in the back: how much longer does it take to fill the 750+200?

imondi- are you asking how much longer the 750s+ take over say the center tank?

If so, I have the 750s and it takes a lot longer to fill up the rears all the way full, maybe 5 minutes or so, HOWEVER, my 750's fill up at the bottom of the 750 sack from the overflow of the hard tank. So essentially my system is very slow in the rears, the water has to go through the hard tank, out the overflow, then into the sack from the bottom... as the sack gets full, the pump has to fight all that head pressure. Also, the same sacks in the 400 when filled completely are rated at 550. I will assume the 750's can be filled over their capacity as well. (i have heard this is true about all the sacks by someone who helps design them but have never weighed them) Granted, the 750's are about 8"-12" too long to fit perfectly, but they fit perfectly from side to side and top to bottom and mine are huge when filled up all the way, so it may be more than 950 lbs back there

Ok this has been bugging me since this topic first came up. Tonight I finally found the time to get an answer. On the trailer using a fake-a-lake, I filled my front bag under the seat as far as it would go. Then I lined up a 25 gallon storage tub by the drain port to catch the water when draining. I'm trusting for now that the tub is really 25 gallons as advertised, but that will have to be a test for another day. Actually the weight of the water caused the sides of the tub to bulge out quite a bit so maybe it was more. Anyway, I'm figuring I filled the tub 3 times. It wasn't exact, but there was a lot of spillage from water dribbling down the side of the boat, or splashing out of the tub, etc. So in my admittedly unscientific experiment, I got 75 gallons into the bag. At 8.33 lbs per gallon, that comes out to 625 lbs. That's less than I expected, but quite a bit more than mentioned in the video. My boat is a 2012, maybe something was different on an earlier model? Maybe the bag was different? When I get around to more accurately measuring how much water really fits in the tub I used, I will update again.

I also just watched the video again and the shape of the sack is different than mine. Granted in the video it's just a drawing on top of the boat so maybe not accurate. Mine looks more like the shape of an arrow head, was there a different design previously?

haha! That's awesome Ferral!
Interesting too. I've been estimating about 3100lbs. of stock ballast and that lines up perfectly.
750+200 times (2) rear lockers
500 center hard tand
~650 front bow

Ferral.. you rock, thanks for your "scientific" experiment. I was guessing 750, but 650 sounds good. Did you lift the sack up and get all the water out of the sack or just called it good when water stopped being pumped out?

I remember when I was first looking at Axis as my next boat in 2010 and went to wakemakers to start looking at ballast options. The bow sack looked a little bit different then and was rated at 500 or 550 lbs. I got in touch with an Axis rep and asked about this and was told there will be a bigger sack option soon. Before I put money down on my boat I went again online and saw the current sack of 950...

not sure if that sack is the one depicted in the video or not, or if that old sack is where they get 450lbs from...
