 Post subject: What ballast to run for surfing?

What are some of the ways you guys are loading your boats for surfing. i have my own theory but how do you guys do it?

I load up the rear on the side we are surfing, center tank and front ballast. We ride at 11.4 mph. This works great for regular foot riders. It leaves something to be desired for goofy foot riders. We threw a 500lb sack on the back seat and that made both sides AWESOME.

I find it matters what type of wake surfing you want. I notice when the wedge is down, the wake is steeper and closer to the boat, but without the wedge, it is longer, and you can ride further out (which feels more like surfing). I have the weight distributed the same as above (front p'n'p bag, half the center, and one full side.

Ya im like Dbragg is that the 400 pound plug n play + the 200 hard tank under the floor meaning 600 in the corner?

Hey Dave. Yes I think the swim deck definitely affects the surf wake. I've thought about trying it without it to see hoe it does.
