It would be awesome if there was a how-to for changing the oil on the Indmar 335. I'd love to do this at home by myself, instead of driving my boat 45 minutes to the dealer every month. Is there one already?

Wow are you retired or live on a lake?! 50 hours/month, I'm lucky to get more than about 70-80 in a season.

Haha, I live in Florida within 2 miles of a public boat ramp. I usually go out both Saturday and Sunday for about 8 hours a day. :) Although lately, I only go 1 of the 2 days because I've had stuff to do. But still, 8-9 hours a week at a minimum....can be 16-20 though.

Short & Sweet Version: Buy the Pella pump with the used oil storage ball on it that holds about 6 quarts. Suck it right out of the dipstick tube or the capped oil drain tube. Change the filter, replace approx 5.5 quarts of 15-40. You may want to start with 5 quarts or a little under & check the dipstick as you add. That Simple!

Oil filter is a penzoil pz52. If it cant be purchased at the auto parts store have them cross reference it in another brand. The oil drain cap is attached at the front of the engine on the right if you are looking at it from inside the boat. It is a black rubber tube with a key ring type attachment secured to the cap. It is attached through the key ring to a bracket to hold it up. Once you get the key ring off the bracket you may need to use 2 wrenches to unscrew it since it is kinda tight from the factory. I'll try to attached a link to a pic of it. Copy and paste this link to the moomba forum. First 3 pics will give you an idea of what it looks like. FYI. You can also suck the oil out through the dipstick tube.

Here's a list of compatible replacements for the filter. Much cheaper at an autoparts store than bakes online.
