This weekend was the first weekend the temperature was in the mid to high thirties. And the only thing high for us was the temp on the boat. I put the boat in the water and the temp went up to 207. I shut it down and the temp went down. Started it back up and same thing. I talked to the dealer they said it was the impeller, so I had it changed and was back on the water in two hours. same thing again, so back to the dealer they said it was an air lock in the line. Turns out that was wrong too as I found out first thing this morning. Back to the dealer again. Has anybody else had these symptoms or the same code come up on the dash with all the bells. I read the thread on the malibu page about the issue with heaters on the boat.

I had mine go off once, but never came back, though the dealer did say they had some sensors go bad before. Maybe you just have a bum sensor

Seems weird that the boat would even get that hot. I thought it would go into "limp mode" far before it got to 207. Maybe something with the thermostat.

I'm thinking it also could be restricted water flow do to the heaters on the boat. Bu owners have experienced this with the ls3. On tuesday when the dealer is open I'm going to ask if they have bypassed the heater on any other boats. That is if that is the problem.

They checked the thermostat, and it's working. The temperature just goes right up then right down again. I'm hoping this warranty because i already paid out of pocket for the other repairs.

Turns out it was a defective water pump, already back on the water.

Just found out that there is a recall on the model# 212 water pump.

Ya they made a mad dash to fix the Brostock towboat for a similar issue, when I got there to snag a few pics they had just finished fixing it and were heading back in from the test drive

Did that brostock boat have the LS3?

I have this issue with the my LS3 occasionally. It's a long haul out of my marina and out of the 5MPH. If I hustle and push the 5mph limit I can make it in time before it gets over 195 degrees. But occasionally I'm a bit slower and it'll get to 200 before I get outside the buoy.
