What equipment is in 2011 stereo 2? Thinking about upgrade

That's right, for 2012, stereo 1 and stereo 2 is all Alpine, stereo 3 is all Wetsounds. Was still available when I ordered a couple weeks ago

I ordered my boat with stereo pack 1, jerked everything out, and added the following:
1 wetsounds syn6
2 wetsounds syn2's
1 wetsounds ws420 eq
2 wetsounds Rev 410 tower speakers
6 wetsounds xs650 interior speakers
1 wetsounds XS12 sub
2 xs power batteries D3100 batteries

Hurts the ears.

looks like the sub is a MTX TR75.

Thanks for the input.

I would like the tower cleaner at 65ft, I do not like the big bulk of the wetsound tower speakers. I'm tall and almost hit my head as it is.
Could I just change the speakers and use the cans i have?
If I did that what would be a good speaker to choose?

I haven't heard anything that was really clear at 65' using a 6 1/2-7" speaker. You can hear them, but not very clearly. I had the kicker 6500.2 and my riding buddies have 4 exile sxt's adn 2 exile sxt/xm7 combo.

Drop-ins for the stock mtx cans I would look at something like a polk MM651. They'll push 100w.

Have you thought about a pair of rev10's or xm9's? You can mount them on the corners and walk inbetween.

I would go xm7's or xm9 from excile audio. 80+ feet with there horn tech. And thier sxt65q is a great tower speaker for surfing.

I am working on an in with them as a rep. (long story, just keeping it local)

If people are interested I might be able to get a reasonable group deal....???

Ah, now it's all making sense to me. I thought my tower speakers were horns and I just assumed they were lousy ones. Didn't realize they are just coax speakers.

Chattwake, Did you build a box for your sub or did you leave it free air?
