thanks for the pics firefighter. Mine looks like a paper cut compared to that. I've heard the pain after surgery is worse than child birth due to the nerve endings and blood rush to feet when you rise to get on crutches.

It is pretty painful. I was in the hospital for 3 days after mine on a morphine Pca pump. Still hurt pretty bad. But I hurt all over from the fall. After I got home the pain killers made me sick so after 2 days of that I throw them in the trash and just dealt with it. The blood rush is pretty bad but it's tolerable, but plan on sitting alot. My mother in law brought me a wheel chair which was a huge help. Gave me alot more freedom to get around and take care of myself. Might be something to look into.

I have access to a wheelchair, but was gonna stick to crutches or one of these carts. I've been doing crutches only the last two days to prepare myself and learn to use one foot.
I'll tell you what- my left leg and a** are gonna be in the best shape of my life with all the hopping around.

Hoping to be up and on crutches 4-6 days after surgery. Don't know if that's too soon to expect? here's treatment guidelines.

Yea the crutches get old after awhile. I know what u mean about leg and butt pain. Ur arms and chest will get raw on the inside from the crutches rubbing. The treatment is pretty close to the same thing I got. He actually put me in a boot after 8 weeks so I could take it off to take a bath. But he told me if I walked on it my arch would collapse and I would be messed up for life so I took it pretty serious. I had pins that came out at 6 weeks but the screws stay in, but mine was a little different than yours with the broken bones and dislocation. That knee scooter will work good. I had a 2 month old when I did mine so the wheel chair helped alot with get her around and being able to carry stuff around the house.

Thank you very much firefighter. It's really good to hear from somewhere who's been there, although our injuries are a bit different.
This is my first surgery and it's a little intimidating...want to walk normal without limp. :) Just got to be patient and follow the sheet above, just like you said!

Thanks!
Matt

That totally sucks. Call me if ya'll go out again and I'll come ride with ya. You will be back in no time. I was out 8 weeks last year with a lower Orbital Fracture.
