Hey guys, My stereo has been sounding like crap and today I decided to spend some time tuning it. The problem I found was that for some reason all of the speakers on the Left channel seem to have a way lower volume output. I haven't really dug into the way it is wired but I swapped the rca's from right to left and that channel still seems to be way quieter so I think the problem is coming from the amps. It seems that the te404 is the culprit but I am not positive. I have tuned it with the balance 5 to the left and it seems to sound ok but would love to hear if anybody else has run across anything like this coming from the MTX amplifiers.

haven't seen that before but an easy way to check the head unit would be to swap the rca front and rear and see if the tower is affected side to side, if it stays on the interior it may very well be the amp.

have you swapped the wiring on left to right side (on amp) to eliminate a speaker/wiring issue?

Make sure that both gains on the amp are the same. Even though you only have 1 RCA running the 404 it still uses both right and left outputs. I think that may be it.

Let's us know!

The way the speakers are wired makes the front gain control the front 2 cabin speakers and the rear gain does the 4 rear speakers. Nothing on the amp should affect left to right fading so I decided to find another amp to use for troubleshooting. My buddy had an old pioneer amp kickin' around and I swapped the 404 out and it fixed the problem. Definitely an issue with the amp. I will be contacting my dealer this week and hopefully he can ship me a new one as he is over 3 hours away :(

Don't hold your breath, I personally delivered mine to the dealer in September last year and still haven't heard anything, damn warranty ran out last month, lazy dealer, thanks for reminding me, I'm going to get someone on the phone about this tomorrow.

I just dropped off 3 tower speakers that the separator blew/burned up. Melted the plastic on the magnet and haven't herd anything yet.

Did they say how long the audio warranty was?

I think I am coming up in my 1 year....
