Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and to Axis. Just sold my older MB direct drive and got what I think is a screaming deal on a '14 T22. Can't wait to get a surf board behind this thing.
While we mostly surf, the kids still like to tube. On my old boat, it was recommended NOT to pull tubes from the tower. This 22 doesn't have a rear pylon to hook a rope to. Are these newer towers strong enough to handle big sideloads that come from pulling big tubes with lots of kids?
Appreciate any info...

I have always been told never to pull from the tower. So I just don't. A 4 person tube can really put some stress on a tow point. We just snapped a tube rope yesterday when the driver bogged down the tube behind the boat. If you are pulling some little guys around it might not be bad but I just never pull from the tower.

Thanks for the info...that's what I thought. So, my next question is, can I install a rear pylon? There is a cupholder where it is supposed to be. When I pull the cup holder out, there is a hole in the bottom of the cavity. Looks to be 1"-1.5" in fiberglass thickness. Can I just order a pylon from Axis and bolt it in, or does it have to be tied into some kind of structure besides the fiberglass. I cant tell if there is anything else there but its definately thick.

Sure, why not? If you don't pay for it you get the cupholder, it's an option at purchase.

That's what I pull the world's greatest tube from.

Not sure if you did it yet but just order the tow point from the dealer. It was like a Hundred or so and you pull the cup holder and install. It’s alreay reinforced for it. Takes 5 minutes to install
