Any other hydrofoilers out there playing past the first wake? What is your favorite speed, ballast, wedge configuration? What is your favorite foil?
So far we have tried 6 different wings behind the boat. For the first wake we like the Slingshot H2 wing, for 2nd wake++ we like the lift 200.
Boat speed 12.2mph, surf gate deployed, wedge down, balast even and full (750's rear, 500 center, 500 front). Axis A24 2016

we are playing with different boat/board/foil wing setups. I have been trying to foil the 2nd and 3rd wake back and still don't feel like i have found the optimal setup.

Wings tried:
Liquid force Impulse (same as Cloud IX S24 or Thewakefoil AK) 24" mast. This is the wing used on the embedded video above
Liquid force Rocket (same as thewakefoil V1) 24" & 36" mast
Neil Pryde Glide Surf L and M 28" mast
Slingshot H2 24" & 28" mast
Slingshot H4 24" & 28" mast
Lift 200 28" mast

Can’t wait to afford one, how does the basic set up on the shorter mast do?
Don’t want to spend 1800+ vs 1500

the 24" works great. you really only need the 28" if you want to pump with no wave/wake. The overall favorite among our riders is the slingshot h2 with 24" mast.

So the 24 works for 2nd and 3rd wave back for pumping to catch up to or fade back from main wave? You can actually pump your way back to the main wave?

Beginning riders seem to have a much easier time on the 24". I struggle pumping anywhere flat with a 24", I need more range of motion but some people can do it.
Slingshot is nice because they make a 28" and it only costs $100.
If I had to choose one, 28" for sure.

Figured it's been a year since I posted this. Come a long way with setting the boat, balast and foil up. This is the result of those tweaks.

Turning the wake down helps for foiling.
Rear 750s only 30% full, center and front 500s 100%. Wedge up, 12mph. Wake should hardly be breaking. Ideal

That's awesome! What could a person expect to spend on a foil like that?
