I haven't considered doing anything with my impeller. Is this a universal part for most boats or is it specific to our boats? I should probably order one and keep it on the boat.

You might want to start thinking about the impeller as it's probably the most important part of the boat beside the battery

The impeller feeds water to the engine water pump. If the impeller fails the engine will overheat. It's a fairly common item and our are pretty easy to replace.

It can last more than one season, but if it fails on the water you either need to know how to replace it or that's the end of your day.
