We went to the cable park today. It was interesting seeing me (34) and two of my friends (37 and 40) hanging out with the young one. Lots of good parents are teaching their kids to wakeboard at the cable park. Hopefully it will help keep wakeboarding behind the boat alive. I am jealous of their durability. We were all toast after about 3 hours of riding.

i see you are from Knoxville. We keep our boat at Norris.

Cool. I haven't been to Norris in years. My buddy just bought a lake house on Norris near Bubba Brews. He has a 2013 axis A22 that is almost the same color as mine. If you ever see him out there, go talk to him. The wife and I may try to get up there sometime this summer. My wife just had a baby so our lake time has been limited.

My surfboard has been used twice in the past 2 years. And not once by me. I'd ski again before I'd surf. Of the people I ride with I'd say 5 are wakeboard only and the rest are there to learn a bit and have a good time.

44 and 11 -- and we are 99% wakeboard. I can't get a long wakesurf sweet spot so not a lotta room to do tricks.

I'm a little shocked to see so many Wakeboarder posts. You would not guess that from the industry vibe that we have seen over the past years.

Maybe we are just not seeing the new growth but we still have the diehard guys that are riding?

I would love some statistics on how many of the cable kids stay around after the camp ends. It is probably less than 5%??

On lake Austin I don't see many wakeboarders these days but this weekend on Lake Placid I actually saw more wakeboarders than surfers.

Maybe the LF Make Wakeboarding Great Again hats are causing a resurgence?

95% surf. If it's glassy I'll take a pull on the wakeboard. But shoot, I can only do two or three runs a day on the wakeboard and I'm beat but I can stay on the surfboard for an hour at a time. Same with everyone else. We basically have to force them to give someone else a chance.

96.25% wakeboarding here. We're a bunch of guys with gfs/wives from late 20s to early 40s. Pretty much the only time I surf is when I have boat newbies out with us. I think for the diehards, wakeboarding is still where it is at. For people just getting into boating, most go to surfing first as it is lower impact/you can share gear easier.

I think wakeworld is slow because most of that crowd hasn't embraced cable. In addition the forum there got nasty during the last election cycle, with the owner of WW even jumping in the mess.
