I wonder what it means for Cobalt's surf boats. I hadn't heard of Volvo's forward drive prior to this. Anyone ride behind any of them? I guess the video of one of their boats blowing by a wakeseter will be changing :) - http://cobalt-www.azurewebsites.net/surf-cs3/

Wow. I currently have a direct drive cobalt 202cs (selling) and an A22. The build quality on the cobalt is very good. Locally the cobalt dealer and Malibu are competitors. This might be interesting.

I talked to the sales guys at the boat show on the regal and cobalt forward drive. Even the sales guys acknowledge that it's not nearly as good for surfing. This is a hybrid option for families that want to play, not for serious surfers or wake boarding.

I know of a number of locally competing Cobalt/Malibu dealers. Shake up? Probably only if the Cobalt dealer is subpar.

I'm going to sit back and see how this all plays out. I do have a feeling that we will see some shakeup in the Cobalt dealer world.
