I'm at 600' elevation with a 2015 A24 with the 350 motor and 2249 prop. I run the Sumo bags; horseshoe up front with a 450 on top of the seats. 900's in the back. All factory ballast also full. I can get up to wakeboard speeds without significant issues.

May have a change in plans. Was quoted a 2016 new a24 white and red metal flake with sound pack 3 with hi torque prop with the 350 for $64,000.00 I think this is the route I'll go. Banks working on finishing financing now. Only worry is the 350 being enough boat for a A24. Anyone have any input on this price for this boat with the 350? Thank you all'!!!

At sea level my a20 sacd out heavy is a real problem with the 350
And an economical 1235 and a bunch of people to come to surf speed, for wakeboarding I can't get on plane that way without a crowd, your really going to have to prop this thing down. I assume you'll have a much better tranny ratio, but your lake running speed will be hindered but if that's not an issue, prop it down , but a 24 with the 350 seems a mismatch

Really on an A20? I have a 16 A20 with the base engine and even full of people, with full ballast plus PNP plus wedge I can still get on plane fine. Doesn't seem to struggle at all. I don't know what prop is on there, it's whatever came from the factory. Lakes I go to are from sea level to a few hundred feet above. I wonder if there's a problem with your boat? Or maybe Axis changed the stock prop in some year after you bought yours?

Anyway, sorry I can't comment on the engine with the A24; but for the A20 it seems great to me.

More than likely it's the gearing of the newer boats, in 2015 they went to 1.72 gearing I believe which helped quite a bit.
