So im in the market for a new/new to me axis. I sold my a22 13' to get into a surf gate boat. Currently have found two purchase options. my local dealer has a 16' left over A22. pretty loaded up. metal flake. 350 motor 0 hours. sale price $67,000.00 before TAX. Second option is a used 15' a22 with the 350 also with 60 hours for $55,000.00 when I nada the boats their only about $3000 difference in values. Now I know the 15' doesn't have a warranty but for $12.000 less I don't know which road to travel. Any input is greatly appreciated! plan on using this boat for this summer and trading up next spring! Thank you!

I vote save the 12 grand assuming the 15 is in good condition, and it sounds like it should be. I think resale and all - you will be better off IMHO,

If you're paying cash, yeah 12k will be nice to save, but you could very well end up with 12k in problems/labor that would be covered by over the next 5 years. I've been diagnosing an Exhaust Manifold Temperature problem and I'm pretty sure Malibu/PCM have spent well over $6k in labor/parts dealing with this. If you're gonna be making payments on this, think about how much you're going to save per month on 12k over the course of your loan and think about how much less you have to spend at any random moment if you have an issue that would otherwise be a warranty claim. It's 5 years everything except 1 year on gelcoat vs no warranty. Not a hard decision in my mind.

Also added bonus is the hydraulic surf gates which are better in the '16 and the better dash/heater locations in the '16.

May have a change in plans. Was quoted a 2016 new a24 white and red metal flake with sound pack 3 with hi torque prop with the 350 for $64,000.00 I think this is the route I'll go. Banks working on finishing financing now. Only worry is the 350 being enough boat for a A24. Anyone have any input on this price for this boat with the 350? Thank you all'!!!

At sea level my a20 sacd out heavy is a real problem with the 350
And an economical 1235 and a bunch of people to come to surf speed, for wakeboarding I can't get on plane that way without a crowd, your really going to have to prop this thing down. I assume you'll have a much better tranny ratio, but your lake running speed will be hindered but if that's not an issue, prop it down , but a 24 with the 350 seems a mismatch
