I would bet good money that with all that weight in the back and not enough front weight you were not hitting a speed fast enough to allow the wave to form? What did the spedo say? On my 16 A22 if I am not around 10mph it will not build. Having experimented a TON on building a good wave with mine key is going to be additional (here me say in addition to your plug and play front sack) front ballast. I have 200lb of lead in the nose and just this year started running an 450lb sack in the nose either on the seats or in the front walkway depending on passenger load. Made a huge difference but honestly could prob use more! With the cockpit of the A boats sitting further back toward the center line than the T boats it takes much more weight in the front to get the boat to "pivot" over when the big sacks are full in the back. If you are just filling everything without additional front weight it simply sinks the surfgates and "wheelies" the boat through the water. Creates a big jacked up wave right behind the swim platform with no real surfable pocket to play in. Take it from a guy that has spent a lot of my life trying to get a good surfwave in this thing and buy more ballast....

We did make it to surf speed, I heard the horn for the cruise. I have additional sacs that I am going to try this week. I have an 1100 pound sac that I was going to try and put in the walkway. Do you think this would get a surf wave or should invest in a bag for on top of the seats?
