Cracked Stringer Small.jpg
Cracked Stringer Small.jpg [ 54.4 KiB | Viewed 19845 times ]
My boat had a cracked stringer last year in July , just got my boat back from factory and haven't used it yet. I checked the stringers and see cracks again. Not sure why it left the factory this way. I have several other issues with the boat, but will leave them out of this thread.

I'm not trying to bash any brand or get into any heated . I would like some honest opinions about these cracks. They look like stress type cracks. I've been around boats and my opinion is they will spread and become worse over time.

The first cracks from when the boat was new we never bagged the boat, only had my wife and me aboard, rarely went over 12 m.p.h.. and pulled my 12 year old daughter on dead flat butter .....no stress......

This picture was taken today 6/10/17 and not the same as the cracks from last year.

Any constructive opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

It could be marks from the form and not cracks, what area? If it's the same area I'd say it's from the form. Mine didn't cracking a stringer it ripped the stringer from the hull. And just keep an eye on them for spreading aka crazing. mark them with a silver sharpie etc. and keep an eye on it, if it spreads call the dealer.

Thanks, will certainly keep an eye on them and hope your correct . I did not see any other of these type form marks on the boat but will take a close look.

It is in the same area as last time, starboard side near the motor mount. I plan to sell the boat soon and most people who look in there would think its cracked, so having a solid answer will be important.

Have a great day.

What year and model is your boat? I keep hearing about more and more boats with these issues. Is it something they have resolved or continuing?!
