the spare normally becomes the 1235 or factory prop that came on the boat. Most dealers order a standard prop or a 'high altitude' prop that is usually not as aggressive as what most people end up with after adding in extra ballast for surf and wakeboarding.

For a spare do most of you have an identical prop or have one that is a little different just to try something else. I have a 1235 on a 2016 T23 with a 350. I'm at 2800 ft elevation. Any thoughts?

My 1235 is my cruise prop for low altitude (3900 feet in my case). I also have a torque prop that is better at high altitude (like 7000 feet) where I go locally. So I recommend a different one. But if you only ever go one place....maybe get an exact replacement.

I would bump up to a better prop and keep that 1235 as a spare. That will get rid of the out of the hole problem and also keep you with a decent spare incase you ding your new 2773 or whatever prop you decide on.

What do you use for your torque prop?

I called Malibu on this last week and they said that for the T23 with heavy weight they recommend the 2773 or the 2313. There's since been a new prop released by Acme, the 3093 that splits the difference between the two, it's a 12.5" pitch. Someone on here is running that and they're numbers look great for plane time with heavy weight and top speed.

The 2313 isn't cutting it on my boat, the motor is only turning 4300 RPM on takeoff and the peak of the torque curve on that motor is around 4700RPM which is ideally where you'd want it to spin getting you out of the hole. Above or below that RPM you're producing less power.

Have you tried the 2315 or 2419?

I originally started with the 2419, it spun the RPM all the way to 5300 on takeoff thus not having enough torque to get it up on plane, took like 1min 20 sec to get there without wedge and RPM at 22.4 was like 4500RPM.

OJ945 brought that plane time down but it still spun at 5300RPM on takeoff and still ran 4400-4500 at 22.4

I have the 2773 on my 2016 t23 and have been very happy with it. Have no issue to plane out with full hard tank, 750s in rear, 550 up front all full. I have not experimented yet with my 750lb bag in the walk way but I'll let you know next week. With all stock ballast full I normally pull everyone out of the water at 4500rpm and that will plane me out at around 21.5-22.
