So picked up 600lbs of ballast in 50lb bags. Where is a good spot to start with them for surfing? Was thinking 200 in bow and 150 under tower on each side? Thoughts?

I don't know about the A24 but on my T22 it liked weight forward of midship and on the surf side. Since we all only surf regular I stuffed all my lead in the port side shelf from the nose back to the tower basically in a line. I only had 400lbs but it helped immensely.

Hey r33, did you get steel or lead? Where did you buy it from?

Steel.. my buddy ordered it. We got 1600lbs for 1200 bucks. I'll ask him where he got it.

I've only got 200 lbs of steel for my T23, but it all goes as far forward as I can get it. That's with 900s in the back and the 650 in the front.

Does it seem to make quite a big difference in your surf wave?

I have pop bags in my A24. I run 400 pounds spread pretty evenly all midship. I have some in under the observers seat, next to the batteries. I have some lining the floor, under the seat behind the driver. I have some lining the floor, under the seat behind the cooler. And I can't remember but I think I threw a bag under the driver seat too. I use the bow bag filled 100% and usually run a bag in the bow walkway. I have 750's in the rear...and the wedge.

Thanks that's what I'm going to start with!

Yes. It basically helps me get the 900s in the back up to surf speed. Remember I'm at pretty high altitude here, so 11.8 mph is no small feat sometimes.

I guess it mostly just allows more people to ride in the back where it's comfy. Wish the T23 was built so people could ride on the back row when surfing, but that's just not the way it is, at least when I'm at a higher altitude.
