Bow Bag T23 question

But geeze, $340 for the bow bag. The Sumo and Fly High bags are $190. How much extra weight is the custom bag getting? Maybe 50lbs? Just throw some lead in there and call it a day.

Your probably getting the full 400 in either of the bags mentioned, I know the fly high triangle I run fills every nook and cranny of that space, I like where wakemakers placed the fill and vent/overflow ports though....not for $340 though!

Side question. Are you running the 2773? I saw you ran other props in past. I have same boat and motor. Any thoughts on the 2773 vs the other props you tried. We wakeboard 80% and surf 20% of the time. I've been running the 2313 so just curious if the 2773 would give me better gas mileage without loosing out on low end torque to plane out. I'm at Norris lake in TN and it looks like we are at 1000 elevation per google.

I've only run the 2773 at the end of the season for a couple days and just from my quick tests it's been the best prop acceleration and cruise RPM speed. The 2313, 2315, 2419 put the engine higher than the peak of the torque curve and your engine RPMs are running very high to get you on plane(all the way to 5300 in fact) but you don't have as much torque as you could at a lower RPM. The 2773 never let the engine spin above 4700RPM. Once the boat gets on plane it ran lower RPMs than the other props I've used.

I spoke to Scott who's head of engineering at Malibu and he said when they swapped to the PCM motors they tested and found the 2249 prop worked best, but they've since re-worked the prop recommendations for the T22/23 since they came out later and found the 2773 worked better.

I have some other issues going on with my boat though so I'm not the best resource for exact comparisons. My boat ran at 44-4500 RPM at 22.4 with full ballast with the 2773. The other boat at the dealer with my bags swapped in and same weight ran 4-4100 RPM at the same speed, so I feel like I have something else going on.

I found out I am running the 2315 in the 350 engine at 1000 ft elevation at Norris Lake, TN. Do you think the 2773 would be a better option? We wakeboard and wakesurf. When we surf we add 650 bow bag above seats and 800s in rear.

You'll lose some low end but your RPM's will drop way down. What's your wake board setup?

Our wakeboarding set up varies but at most we use full stock middle and rear. Then we add 650 bag under seats in bow and fill the 900 rears half full to 2/3s full. No wedge last summer. Will try wedge this summer and decrease rear sacs to see how it does.

What's your approximate plane time with that setup? Speed and RPM? Does your engine go all the way to 5300 on take off to get on plane?

I will run it this spring as soon I can get into the water. I just don't remember from last year. I was using a 1235 before that and the 2315 definitely gave me more low end torque but much higher rpm.

I will post some numbers as soon as I can this spring. Thanks for all the info and thoughts.

Is there an rpm at wakeboard speed that I should ideally be shooting for and an rpm at surfing setup that I should shoot for?

Yes, the hose with the check valve is the fill, the line right next to that is the drain, the other line higher up is the overflow/vent line. That's how my 16 A20 is atleast. What bag are you running?

Thanks for this Steve, it really helped me when plumbing in my bow bag. I went with the Wakemaker 400 bow bag. My fill line off the check valve was too short as well, but my vent line was way too long, so I removed the short line off the check valve & cut the excess off vent line. That piece was long enough to complete junction from check valve to bag fitting. Worked out great & fits great. Thanks.
