I am sure he would do a group buy for us and make as many as we need.

Is the riser necessary with a flip up bolster seat? We are coming from an older boat without the flip up seat I had no problem without it, but my wife needed a throwable to see over the bow when she pulled me.

Our new boat is on order so I just want to be prepared before the season.

My buddy who usually pulls me in my boat is 6' 5" and he flips the bolster. I'm 5' 10" and hate the bolster and don't feel like I need more height.. my point is I think it's a preference thing.

+1 on preference. I'm 5'10" and HATED the flip up bolster but loved the seat riser.

IMO the seat riser is a must on the 2012 A20. I am 5'11" and could not see well over the top of the bow when loaded and at low speeds. I got mine from Jared at tms@skyviewmail.com. He apparently sells on eBay as well. The riser did the trick perfectly for me. It is well made and was a great fit. 30 minutes to install with normal tools. Only issue with mine was that he sent me a Malibu engraved one after having requested a Axis one. In the end you generally can't see it from normal viewing angles so I left it.

After a season of use the only comment I have that could be considered negative is the throttle lever jams against the seat when reversing. This only happens if the seat is not locked in the forward position. However this is a very small price to pay in order to see what you might be trying to avoid!

With a seat riser installed and the bolster down, is your head above the windshield? Do you feel like your sitting too high if you're just cruising around or pulling a wakeboarder?

Just cruising with the bolster down my eye level is just at frame of windshield. So no I don't feel to tall in the seat. When moving fast most of the air is still deflected over my head.
