This thread is interesting. I ride at 6000' and want an a22 bad, but I've read multiple threads that the 330/350 won't cut it. I'd love to buy a used ls3, but they're incredibly hard to find. I check adhuntr and only inboards constantly. The idea of picking up a 10/11 etc A22 with the base motor and doing the upgrade sounds appealing.

@nitrous1 - if you have any links to get us started, that idea looks appealing.

Sorry, I don't have any links, it was a few years ago and we were researching Baja islander upgrades. This is basically a heavy duty small block Chevy, most aftermarket parts are a bolt on and I know at one time procharger even made a marine supercharger for the mercruiser sbc. My suggestion is to start researching the offshore boating sites.

i have the 14 T22 with the 330 I run plug n play 600s in the back 350in the front and 200lbs of lead in the bow, 750 in the middle and wedge down with the 2419 prop and love it! you will sacrifice top speed and some fuel economy but in the end its worth it! And that is wake boarding at 25mph and surfing around 11mph. I am also in AZ and the elevation is 1500ft so depending on where you are it might be a little different.

Difference between 1500' and 6000' is probably 1500-2000 lbs of ballast. My regular lake is at 4000' and t22 with 450/1.72 is just acceptable there. When we go down to 2000' tho... It's a rocket ship!
