I'm not surprised, especially when manufacturers are doing 3,4, or 5 year warranties on the boat (1yr in your case). There's no point on stocking a vinyl for a model "out of warranty" from my point of view. Are dissatisfied with Malibu or the vendor saying it was discontinued? When dealing with vinyl that's been weathered or aged almost 5yrs in your case, even if they had the same type of vinyl you could tell a difference. Color would've been a shade or two off, texture might be slightly off due to it coming off a different roll 4-5 years later. Would it as "off" as the ones they sent you...no.

My boat is covered and stored properly. I actually ordered a skin last year and it matched perfectly.

I am disappointed with Malibu. If you advertise and train your dealers that you support upholstery for 5 years then you should actually be able to provide the service . The dealer memo I have actually states they had 7 years back on vinyl as of March 2016.

I'm going to take it higher and see where it goes. Not expecting much.

Couple of my seats are pulling apart at the piping. Will be calling to get some new skins too i guess. Only 170 hrs on the boat. Seems pretty early to be having issues.

Are you letting people stand, step, or kneel on the seats directly on the piping?

We usually have towels out when people get in and out. Even with ocd I think its a bit excessive to expect people to not step on them. Its a big step from the dock to the floor. Should be a walkthrough or step if its not intended to be pressed on.

You can use your throw cushion as a step pad or order a "seat saver" to use to step on to get from cabin to sunpad
