Just purchased a new A20 while I was on vacation last week. Been out of town for work all this week. Flying home in the morning and hope to get it registered and on the water by Saturday. My dad has owned a 1989 Mastercraft Prostar 190 since 1994. All of the wakeboarding I've ever done has been behind it. Cant wait to ride behind this one! Here's a few pictures.

First hookup!

My parents couldn't miss the trip to pick it up. Dad doesn't care for wakeboarding anymore but he and mom can't wait to try surfing.

Close fit!

Unfortunately the wife and kid couldn't make the trip...so they had to wait until we got home to see it!

Looks nice! Wow barely fits in the garage. Did you have to take off the trailer guide poles?

My wife got up on the surfboard for the first time yesterday and a few days ago I had my son and I up on the surfboard at the same time. Pretty fun but I still enjoy wakeboarding more.

I have a 2016 A20 and all the problems I've had have been related to the trailer. If you get a chance could you take a photo of the boat on the trailer, from the rear, but the bottom of the boat? I would like to see where the brass engine water inlet (looks like a small round cage) sits in relation to the trailer bunk.

Congrats!!

And holy moly at that garage clearance!! Will that be a daily occurrence for you or no? How much room do you have at the top, I can only imagine how long it took you to get it in while checking everything couple inches, lol.

That is one of the best combinations on hull I've seen
Load her down, and she makes lots of wave

I'll get that picture this afternoon when I pull it out. I do have to take the guide poles off to get it in. Luckily, thats a quick process. The room at the top ended up being a couple inches...so the least of my worries. I'm debating keeping it stored at the lake during the summer and only home in the garage during the winter. I'll be using it enough to keep from having any grime issues from being stored in open air (covered stalls...but still). We will build a new house in the next 3 years and a taller, wider garage door will definitely be in the plans.

This is what I got that day. After taking it off and putting it back on the trailer it was on the bunk. After doing it again a couple days later it was back as is shown in the picture. Have you had problems with yours?

Yes. It's almost impossible to get mine away from the bunk so it's not touching. The problem is that after only a few launches the carpet there is all torn up from the strainer dragging on it. Also the wood underneath has a big dent from resting against the strainer. It makes it difficult to get the boat positioned right, I have to sink the trailer way into the water (exhaust of my truck is underwater) and then have someone sit on the rear sun pad and literally pull on the trailer guidepost to pull the boat as far to the left as possible. Otherwise it ends up sitting right on top of the bunk which I would never want to drive with it like that.

My dealer says Axis approved a "flush kit" because as it is it's impossible to do maintenance/winterization using a fake-a-lake. I'm not entirely happy because that only solves part of the problem. Someone else on here had the same problem and said that a different A20 on the dealer lot didn't exhibit this problem so I was hoping they had moved the bunks or drilled the through-hulls in a different spot :(

Hopefully after they look at it again they will understand that it's a bigger problem and will be able to do something better.

Thanks for the photo, I appreciate it. I'm pissed every time I think about the trailer (because I have other problems with it, too), but when we are out on the water we always have a blast so it's hard to be 100% mad.

That was me with the same issue [emoji34] , they have a 2017 A20 at the dealership and it's still the same. Doesn't look like malibu even addressed the problem. They are doing a flush kit for me also but I'm just having them add in that new indmar strainer/flush kit that comes as an option with the Malibus.
