Tonight while surfing the PnP bow bag starting automatically draining. Couldn't figure out where since there was no water shooting out the side of the boat. I figured maybe it had a hole in it or something. Got back to the dock and checked it out, totally dry in there so there's no hole. I tried filling the bag up a few times while parked and it would just slowly drain itself. But where's the water going?

Next I tried filling and draining with the pump. Nope, no water draining out when the pump was on.

I'm sure these two problems are connected in someway? I have a '16 T22 with about 50 hours on it now.

Do you have a check valve in between the fill pump and the bag?

Had same problem, your bag probably never drained correctly to start. my dealer said the pump was mounted in wrong location and would loose prime, but after fix bag won't drain unless I fill totally and get all air out(but at least it drains now). The bag will now siphon drain slowly while surfing, I have been less than impressed with that whole bow bag setup, from lifting my seat cushion to fill and drain, it just SUCKS! Also turn the drain on and stand on the bag( sometimes it took two people) see if it starts draining, might have been same guy mounting the pump!

Yeah, the drain hose has a check valve.

EDIT: Seem to have it isolated to the fill pump/hose. Took apart the check valve in the drain line and it looked fine so reconnected everything. The drain pump works again. The way it was connected was interesting, the hose and valve ran under the bag. Wonder if the bag would gravity drain on it's own sometimes. Anyways, I moved the check valve so it runs across the top of the bag now instead of under it so there is no chance of gravity draining now from there. But it still drains through the fill line which is the main culprit. There is a ball valve near the pump and I'm thinking the pump shouldn't allow water to drain back out of it. Maybe an impeller in there is broken?

The drain line should not have a check valve from the factory. The fill line has one between the fill pump and bag hook up. The drain and vent lines don't have them. I have a 2016 A20 and my bow bag was also draining out on its own. I couldn't figure out were until I was wakeboarding and could see water spitting out of the through holes. When I was pulling the next rider I looked over the side and saw water flowing out of the bow sac drain through hole and overflow through hole. I swapped out the T-Series triangle sac for a standard flyhigh 1000 lb sac and rerouted the overflow/vent line to the front of the sac which goes up into the hollow space in the tip of the boat, now when I'm boarding or surfing no water comes out of the overflow/vent through hole. Next I added a check valve on the bow sac drain line right at the drain through hole so it would actually take pump pressure to get past the valve instead of just gravity. It didn't solve the problem 100% but probably 90%. Hope this all made since.

You think the dealer hooked it up wrong? It's definitely on the drain line. My fly high bag has three holes...

One at the top front(closest to bow): This is where the fill line goes.

One at the top back: This is the vent line

One at the bottom back: There is where the drain line & check valve is connected. The check valve is about 6" from the bag.

I filled the bag and closed the ball valve and for now it's holding. Not ideal for a new boat but it will at least get me through the summer if I can't fix otherwise.

It's very possible the "Factory" did it wrong. If you are a 100% certain the check valve is on the drain line I would take it out and get a double inch and 1 eighth male barbed fitting to go in its place. If your fill line doesn't have a check valve your bag will back flow through the pump and drain back into the lake. The fill line must have a check valve between pump and sac. I would hook that line to the rear top hook up. The over flow should go to the front hook up and the drain line should be at the middle bottom hook up. Do you have the T series bag or the traditional 1000 lb fly high? Feel free to give me a call 4806785473.

One word"Warranty" sometimes it's a pain taking it in but as soon as you modify anything they can wash there hands of the problem, right now it's their baby make them fix it.

I kind of skimmed through this. I had and still have the same problem on my boat. When I fill the bow sac up it will back drain through the fill pump. I need to put a 1 way check valve just after the front ballast fill pump. If I fill the triangle sack in the front and leave it, it will drain out. But if I fill it up completely and turn the ball valve off that is threaded between the boat and the front ballast pump I don't lose any water. Took me a while to figure out it was back draining through the pump. Hope that helps

I would check all the plumbing to that front sac. Now that I think about it, mine was wrong all along and probably hasn't worked properly since I got the boat. I usually run the pumps in tandem with the center ballast and that's why I didn't notice. When I took apart the check valve that was connected to the drain pump, it was installed backwards so water couldn't even drain out that way if it wanted too. It was probably this way because it was supposed to be on the fill line.
