Thanks for the info! Anyone ordered any custom boards?

My soulcraft was custom made.. seriously would not hesitate to do it again.

I think with the 6 fin setup it could be used to learn on but probably a slower learning curve for most vs something like a red rocket.

Find a Ronix Longboard 5'4. It's a fun, easy board that you and bigger friends can easily ride. You will want a longer board until you advance your skills, as your height is another challenge for proper foot placement and weight distribution. I use mine to teach all adult beginners now as it's very easy to get up on and forgiving once they get towards the pocket on the wave.

Have you ever had a 260lb plus person ride one? I rode one, or should I say tried and it had no push with me on it..

Edit: now that I think about it the one I tried was shorter then that.. I'll have to find out what it was.

I own it and rode it all last season @ 285lbs 6'1. Ropeless and was able to stick 360's with it. They do make a shorter version...haven't tried it though.

I'm now 235 and prefer my other boards, but it's always on the boat for beginners and adults.

You over in my backyard this week R33pwd?

I also have a custom Chaos Ringer XL board. It is not a board to learn on. It's a blast to ride once you've got the basic skills down.

I don't own a Happy Pill, but would like to ride one. They have awesome reviews, durable and would make for an awesome boat board. You really should own multiple boards. It's a bad addiction.

I bought a Victoria Factor. It's a skim style board. It's the funniest board I have ever ridden. It is very loose but once you get used to that its a blast. I'm 240lbs and it has plenty of push for my big A. And it's around $500.

On the budget end of spectrum we bought a Hyperlite Broadcast after demoing that against the Bylery Buzz. It has turned out to be a great boat board and a wide range of people have learned on it. At $350 a good budget board as well. I feel as if I am now ready for something else. It was a good blend of skim and surf style which helped me realize that I want a skim style board for the future. For ref I'm 6'5" and 250lb

When we get our new boat I'm going to try out wake surfing. My kids already have a board and have been surfing for a couple years now with friends. I'm a big guy 6'5" 260 lbs. any recommendations on a board for a beginner and a big guy? I've been reading about custom boards (Doomswell and Day1). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

If you like surf style , I love the happy pill from LF , we have the 4'10, the make a 4 8" now maybe a bigger one(don't make 4 10"'any longer too big for wife but she bangs it anyway ) buoyancy of foam and epoxy construction will deal with your 260, the "pill" finds the wake for you, your job is to stay with it and don't fall cause it will make a recovery
P.s. It will make you smile
