Why would you? Surf gate is a flip of the button and this is manual. But with that said, I would try it with surf gate...for science and stuff yo. Anybody got a link to the build of this? I want to build one.

It worked out amazingly well, I also have a platform mount gate and this one is as good, steering and turning at slow speeds are much easier with this one, I guess because it's even with the rudder instead of 2 feet behind it. Install time is much faster but I did tether a rope to it and tie it to a cleat, it sinks, but once I put it on it never popped off. I got the 8$ suction cup handle from harbor freight and used some hdpe plastic I bought 2 years ago to make a poor gate with but never got around to it. I put it even with the water level and the wave amazing. I tried to stick it to the very lowest edge of the boat but it just washed out, moving it up to the next higher edge worked out perfect, cost me maybe 30$ I put it on the black spot of the gel even with the swim platform and right below the A22 decal and the wave was spot on. The size of the paddle is 10" long and 7" tall, I cut the angle with my mitre saw set at 22.5 deg so it's 67.5 off the edge of the boat.

Size comparison. I also got one of the aluminum suction cup handles off amazon for 18$ and I'm gonna make another one but with stainless hardware and I'm gonna try to copy the size and taper of the paddle off my friends mission delta. Maybe mark2 will work even better.

Nope not at the moment. I ordered this morning with over night shipping and ups has it on its way to me. I have been running a homemade gate on 2011 a22. Will let you guys know how well it works compared to the homemade gate.
