You don't necessarily have to use antifreeze if you blow out the lines, just take the line off the intake manifold and blow all the water in the heater back into the engine, make sure you have the drain plugs removed, after that you can use a funnel to put antifreeze in the hose and let it run into the heater but it really isn't necessary if you blow it out good, I personally haven't used antifreeze on this boat because everything is so easy to access to drain, I had an inboard-outboard with the same engine that was a real pain to get to the drain plugs so at the end of the season I just poured 2 gallons of antifreeze into the flush hose and called that good, never had a problem.

Yeah i didnt blow out my lines and my heater core is busted.

That sucks man, check and see if you can get a new one direct from heatercraft, it may be a lot less money than going through your dealer, just eliminate the middle man

I've done some research and it looks like the heater core is the same as a 1980 Ford Van without a/c. The core is $25 at autozone.

I live in Georgia. My screen name is not really appropriate on this forum. It is the same name I use on all forums. There is nothing wrong with the LS1, my favorite engine by far. I have a 1977 Bandit Trans Am with a LS1 in it. If you remember the Bandit's tag was BAN-ONE. Well mine will be BAN-LS1

Ahh...cool. I've got a boosted ls6. Great motors! I'd love to see some pics of the Trans Am. Those were a favorite of mine and still get my attention.
