I know this was in another topic but anybody build a box for the sub already in the boat, to actually get bass out of it. Or is there a drop in option that will fit boat without too much tear down? Is it easier if you don't have the heater build in boat?

To get the cleanest bass, you will need to build a box and remove the free air sub situation. There are a couple of people on here that did that, search for there installs. The difficulty of building your own box is how water tight can you get it. I built one and thought I covered it mostly in resin, the mdf still swelled.

I'm not very mechanical but with the help on this forum I built a box out of 3/4 birch and then used rhino lining, did an amp board as well the same way. Couldn't be happier and in the end wasn't too difficult. Today I'm adding ABS to fill in the sub area to get it cleaned up.
