 Post subject: 2015 T23 Rear PNP Issue

I have 750 lb Fly High PNP in the rear lockers of my 2015 T23 and I am having two reoccurring issues.

1) The hose that connects the hard tank to the soft tank at the stern split open on the outside of the radius. The hose is only about 4" long but apparently is under a lot of stress when the bag is full.

2) The quick disconnect that attaches to the bag in the same location on the opposite side of the boat gets inadvertently disconnected when the bag is full. I guess the bag is pressing against the release causing it to come apart.

Anyone experience these issues and have a work around. Both issues are easy to fix but I want to prevent them from occurring. The bag obviously empties into the bilge and our surf wake is terrible with no ballast.

As it sits right now from the factory there is only 36" between the 2 hoses that connect to the bottom of your bag which is 50" long. My buddy just bought a 2015 T23 and it came with the sumo 750s and kinking the lines pretty bad. Today we took them back to the dealership and just got the Axis 400s. I cut about 5"s off each line so now they are around 42"s apart and plugged the new bags in, there will be no more kinking of either of the 2 lines plugged into the bottoms of the bags. 400s in the rear lockers will be plenty for him and his big family.

There is a thread on here discussing how to cut the rear stern drain line and to add basically a 90* fitting. (2 elbows) to get the bag all the way stretched out and to not kink. I did it on my 15' T23 and it made a huge difference. I also made sure the front drain hose was the correct length.

You will also want 900's or 1100's in the rear. Don't run anything smaller if you plan on surfing. You will only replace them down the road and wish you would've had them to begin with. (I have 900's and want the 1100's)

You should also spend some time putting in some vent lines for your bags while you are doing all the above. That way they will self burp and fill to almost max by themselves.

If I remember when I get home, I'll snap a few pics as my bags are out right now being cleaned. You will have to remove the little black panel on that section when you get ready to modify the drain hose.

Thank you both for the response and the link to the thread. I reviewed it and I believe I will give this a try. I thought about laying it out like this in my head but I was debating to raise the drain up on that ledge because it would completely drain. I guess there is another drain on the front of the bag that will allow the bag to completely drain.

I would love to have the vents also, currently I am venting by hand. The bags get full but it requires me to burp the bags manually. I agree 1100 lb bags would be a big improvement for the wake.

That little ledge in the back won't keep it from completely draining. I will usually keep my pumps discharging as I start to head back or wherever on the lake. The motion of the boat trying to plane out will force the water over that little step in the rear and they will empty.

I finally did the upgrade as suggested by boostedsled. I filed the barb off one of the elbows and they joined together with the quick release tab. I went out and after two fill and drain cycles there were no issues. Thank you for the tip. Now to add weight and vents.
