Sounds like the consensus is to fill the middle and put weight in the not clean side until it crisps up. I'll try that next time out and report back. Thanks all!
Is your speedo GPS corrected to ensure its accurate? I just cannot imagine an empty ballast Axis having to go 22-23mph to get a clean wake. I have an A24 and can easily get crisp, clean wake at 18mph with or without wedge and even with all hard tanks, bow sack, and a couple hundred pounds of ballast in the rear sacks...still clean at 18-18.5mph. That's one of the reason I love Axis as far as wakeboarding, so easy to setup and clean wakes at low speeds.
