10 hour service average cost?

Did mine at 20hr. $240 is what it would have cost. Also did a few warranty items that came up.

I love engine and oil viscosity discussions... which ultimately end up being a urinary Olympics between young mechanics vs. old mechanics.

I'm an old mechanic, so I had mine changed at 10 hrs (~250-300 I think). Lots of reasons why, but the top three are:

1. Piston seating has virtually occurred and they are varnished
2. I would rather identify alignment issues earlier and later
3. New oil is always better for your engine after break-in.

I wonder what Walter's position will be.... let the fun begin!

The first service is 10 hours for the Crusader (PCM) Monsoon 350 then every 50 hours after. Not sure about the Indmar engines I think their service schedule is different.

Maybe you could point out the 10 hour service requirement for us in the PCM manual?

My dealer recommended changing between 10-20 hours. I did mine at 10 to make sure everything was working properly and get it loaded down as soon as possible.

Yeah you are right I must not have remembered correctly or maybe the dealer told me something else but the first is 25 hours for the break in then 50 after that. Page 25 and page 48 in the manual.

The break period for the Indmar engines used prior to 2015 was 10 hours.

PCM I believe is 20 hours. Mine was included in my deal. But local dealer charges over $400!!!

My manual said 25 hours. That is for a 2016 450HP 6.0.
