Hi all,

I got a 2015 t22 that when you turn the radio up around 26 the tower speakers stop playing, turn it down a couple numbers they kick back on, does anyone have any ideas, thought maybe could have a loose connection or maybe amp trying to go bad any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It could be caused by a ton of reasons.

The easiest one to check is the power and ground tries to the amp. Make sure the connections are tight and clean at the amp and the battery.

It can also be from low voltage or dyeing battery.
Or the amp might be going into protect mode.
I think the factory amp for tower speakers is a two channel, so 2 speakers are wired to 2ohms on each channel, along with too high of gain settings, it might be going into protect mode. So try turning the gains down a bit.

Then theres a possibility of a short in your speaker wires. ETC ETC.

Not sure if the OP has the factory Sony HU, but my Sony HU starts to distort at 47. Adjust your amps to the highest, CLEAN volume of your head unit.

I'd recommend having the dealer do the adjustment so that they can put the sealed sticker back over the gains so that it will still be covered under warranty.

Just a little CYA should an issue pop up down the road.

Thanks everyone for the input it's weird how last year all work correctly and now it's acting up, I have contacted the dealer and they are going to take care of the problem for me.

Knowing that is good. Sounds like the amp has an internal issue. Dealer should take care of it through warranty.

Turn your DSO off and your equalizer off on the head unit. It will cross phase and kick out if you leave this on and play high volume. I turn these off to blast music at speed and turn back on cruising at slow speeds lower volumes.

Had the same thing happen to me and it was the wires into the tower speakers were rubbing (holes in tower and speaker not lined up) and shorted out.
