Hey guys, we've taken our T23 out on the water twice so far (wetsuits!) and we have already noticed the effect water depth has on the surf wake. The boat didn't come with a depth finder, but we would like to add one. I've read on other forums that it's not too hard of an install, but does anyone know where the stock location is? I understand it may be pre-wired, so install would involve gluing it to the inside of the hull and plugging it in - that sounds too good to be true. Anyone have pics of the stock location and the connection???

BTW - I understand that the stock location may have changed in recent years, so if anyone has info on a 2015 (or '16) specifically, that'd be great! Thanks!

Take a look into your transmission area. On one side is the paddle wheel. The depth finder would go in the same location but on the other side. You have to drill a hole in the hull, however! It's not just glued to the hull from the inside! The good part is that the cables are already there and the dash will display it as soon as it is plugged in. It's an easy (and very convenient) upgrade, I did it for my 2014 A22 this winter and can only recommend it!

I installed mine also on my T22. Drilling into the hull is easy peasy, just know the technique. There are videos online on how to drill a hull.
I cant comment on the location though unfortunately. Mine was on the starboard side of the transmission, just opposite of the paddle wheel like pilot said.

Huh, some posters on a different thread said some transducers don't require drilling. I'll have to take this up with my dealer. Thanks for the responses!

I had a "shoot thru hull" type transducer on my old bayliner and it was very unreliable. Wouldn't recommend personally.

Maybe we had the same dealer >:( Initially told me it replaced the paddlewheel so no further holes needed. After I bought the boat now we need to drill another hole in the hull. Here are the instructions I got, supposedly for my 2016 A20 (measurements might be different?). http://www.massassi.com/etc/Axis%20Dept ... ctions.pdf

My 15 a24 it is suppose to be under the access hole next to the drivers chair. I was told next to transmission and after hours of looking for the wire and multiple calls to axis I found it in about 10 seconds (once they realized it moved in 15) that being said I was a dumb ass and drilled the hole before finding the wire but I just extended the wires and worked perfect. Literally I could do another one in 15 minutes..

1) find the wire 2) drill the hole
Got it. Thanks to all for the help!
One last question - what did the transducer cost? Get it from the dealer?
