Lead or no lead. that is my question.
I can see it to offset maybe a 100lb drivers difference but using a huge amount to me seems like more waste than benefit.
How are you using lead? Is it a waterbag/lead mix? 90/10, 80/20?
curious to see how you guys are using it. I have always used water bags because of my drive from the dealership to the lake and then from my boat ramp to my riding spots.

I always have a bunch of lead plates in the nose under the PnP bag. I hate filling up sacs manually. I have about 6 50lbs plates in the nose of my A22. I also have 4 nylon bags with 75lbs of tire weights in them. They're easy to move since they have handles. Those go under the seat in the middle of the boat and I move them if it's just me and a driver.

I have 500lbs of lead. I run most of it in the rear. I run my ballast rear end heavier than most. I personally wouldn't go over 500lbs of lead if you trailer far distances.
Having one or two lead bags is perfect to quickly balance the boat while under way.
My ballast setup is. Factory full, 600's rear, 950 bow, 800 floor sac, 450 in bow, 500 in lead, and wedge down. It throws a pretty beefy wakeboard wake.

On top of full tanks, wedge, and PnP, I was running an extra 400 lb sac up front and a 400 lb sac on the floor.
I run my boat in salt and the furthest I typically tow is 3 blocks to gas up the boat. I got 400 lbs of tire weight lead in PVC pipes to replace my front sac and seven 50 lb wake ballast bags to spread out on the floor.
Now I save time not having to manually fill and drain two sacs and I don't have to worry about spilling salt water in my boat from over filling them. And I save a lot of space on the floor and I can easily move the 50 lb bags around to balance the boat.
If I were to tow longer distance and ride in fresh water, then I would pull the lead PVC pipes out and run a 400 lb sac up front, but keep the 50 lb bags spread out on the floor.

I use lead to avoid having to manually fill an extra sack when light on crew.
I have 400lbs of tire weights I stuff under the port side dash as far forward as I can. I also relocated my cooler there as well which offsets my weight when driving and gives me a little extra weight on the surf side since we all surf regular.
I do move it to the center of the boat over the axles when trailering. Not sure if it makes difference but I tell myself it does.
