Hey guys i know you all have seen the easy lower towers on some of the other brands that only require 1 person to fold the tower down. Have any of you seen or heard of a way to install some sort of gas shock system that would make lowering the tower easier? My parents are getting older and are concerned they wont be able to fold the tower themselves.

I know its kind of a long shot but i figured i'd ask.

Thanks in advance!

Is Mastercraft still offering that power tower feature? I remember hearing about that option a few years back. Was it a 10K option?

I have not heard of anyone creating that tower option for the Axis. Malibu has the gas shock option on the Malibu line but I have not heard any talks on the Axis side about moving the option over to Axis.

It doesn't seem like a difficult thing to install yourself if you can find some shocks. If you do the install, post pics for us.

Yeah, mastercraft's tower is 10k extra, very convenient but definitely not worth 10k. Maybe i'll get around to it after this season, don't want to be tinkering with the boat during the season if I can help it.

Would love an option here as well. No way my wife would be comfortable dropping or putting the tower up with the weight of SP2 and racks. We have to drop to get on the lift daily.

I believe that MC no longer offers the powertower.

I have heard nothing but problems with it. I just thought it to be a crazy option to offer and then to offer it at 10K. I like the nice and easy shock option.

An aftermarket shock option would be nice on the Axis boats.

I was at a Mastercraft dealership the other day and they showed me the tower lowering system on the X46. The whole thing looked to be on shocks and was counter weighted so it was a one person with one hand job.

I've got the SP3 and lower and raise myself when putting the boat on/off the lift. I'm 6'3" and consider myself a fairly strong individual but its still a damn struggle. A shock assist kit would be clutch.
