Hey Guys,

So I got a 2015 A22 last year and have been very happy with it. That being said I had an interesting conversation with a local Centurion dealer.
To sum it up he basically said most of us will never be pro wakeboarders and wouldnt notice much of a difference between an Axis wakeboarding wake and a Centurion wakeboarding wake. He then went on to say more people are buying with emphasis on the quality of the surf wave before the quality of the wakeboard wake. Which in my case (and the rest of my family) seems pretty reasonable. After popping my eardrums multiple times and having friends need multiple knee surgeries from wakeboarding I have been a little more hesitant to go big wakeboarding and have since spent much more time surfing.

Now I'll get to my question, would the surf wave of a centurion Sv233 be noticeably different than that of the A22 (we have stock ballast plus bow sack plus 750's in rear lockers)?

The reason I ask is that our resale value on the Axis as it sits is pretty good and the Centurion dealer has some good deals on overstock 2015's.

Any input/experience is greatly appreciated.

See if he will take you out on a demo on the Centurion. I don't think you can get an honest answer here. In my opinion, if you have surf gate, that is as much surf wave as you need, unless you plan to go pro.

The centurion boats have a great wave. I demoed two before I bought my Tige in 2014. I felt at the time Tige and Centurion had the best waves I tried the sv233 and fs22. The waves where both great but I felt he Tige had a better goofy wave which both my wife and I ride. This was before there surf system so I can't speak on that but now I'm back to Axis again and feel for the money spent my current 16' T23 will compete with any boat I've ridden. Not saying better than Centurion but I enjoy my current wave over any I've ridden. The best way is to demo it and see for yourself.

Thanks for the advice guys. If we get some decent weather in the next couple of weekends here in NC hopefully we'll get to demo one.

If not, oh well, we've been really happy with the A22. Only thing that sucks is there's no Axis/Malibu service at lake gaston, there is however a Centurion one.

The only advice I can give you is don't be loyal to a brand. Be loyal to a service and a boat that fits your needs. Axis is a great boat. I plan to have mine for a long time as it is part of my family and serves all my watersports need. If you surf a lot more than you wakeboard, look at the tige. If you have just a family crew normally, look at the Heydey waketractor. The point being, there is a boat out there that excels in one thing but lacks in the other, then there is a boat that does good in all categories. In my opinion, the Axis does well in all categories for the price. I compare the Axis to a B+ student in every category.
