Has anyone tried the OJ 945 prop? 15×13.....Eric's response to a email I sent him about props for the new gearing. I am currently running the 2249 [emoji53]
Call him up and talk to him tomorrow. I have the 945 on my boat. It feels like the 2315 to me. I liked it enough I bought it and the 2315 is my backup. I know Eric has been working with Malibu on testing of his props since he is across the street from their plant. You should definitely call him, screw the email crap.
Did you notice your RPM'S drop back down a bit going to the 13 pitch vs 12?
Neither. They stayed the same. The pitch from OJ is calculated differently than how acme calculates theirs. It is weird there isn't a standard but I believe the props are designed slightly different too which also plays into the performance.
So do you feel your getting better overall performance with the 945?
I am not going to lie, I can't tell the difference. I don't pay that much attention to it. I know they both run about the same rpm's and pull the same weight. OJ has always felt like it ran smoother but that could be that I like their props alot. I feel like they are more durable than acme. That is just my opinion though and holds very little hard evidence to back it up.
