Has anyone tried the OJ 945 prop? 15×13.....Eric's response to a email I sent him about props for the new gearing. I am currently running the 2249 [emoji53] Image

Call him up and talk to him tomorrow. I have the 945 on my boat. It feels like the 2315 to me. I liked it enough I bought it and the 2315 is my backup. I know Eric has been working with Malibu on testing of his props since he is across the street from their plant. You should definitely call him, screw the email crap.

Did you notice your RPM'S drop back down a bit going to the 13 pitch vs 12?

Neither. They stayed the same. The pitch from OJ is calculated differently than how acme calculates theirs. It is weird there isn't a standard but I believe the props are designed slightly different too which also plays into the performance.

So do you feel your getting better overall performance with the 945?

I am not going to lie, I can't tell the difference. I don't pay that much attention to it. I know they both run about the same rpm's and pull the same weight. OJ has always felt like it ran smoother but that could be that I like their props alot. I feel like they are more durable than acme. That is just my opinion though and holds very little hard evidence to back it up.

Less hole shot, maybe gain 1-2mph top end...maybe. Good prop though for the new 350 gear ratio. As aggressive as the new gear ratio is I couldn't see needing anything more than a 2313 on that small of a boat. Before the gear ratio change the go to props were 2419, 2315, and 2079. What prop do you have now and what are you trying to accomplish?

I only wakeboard and am running the stock 2249 prop, Saturday we were running about 2300lbs ballast, no wedge and it did great. This is with one other person in the boat and pulling a rider. We dropped the wedge and she wouldn't plane out. Wouldn't go over 4k rpms and 12 mph unless I dumped some of the rear sacs. Just wanting to be able to drop the wedge with full ballast.

Yeah, wedge supposedly simulates about 900-1000lbs approx. if the 2313 works I'd go to the 2315 because it would do it easier and the rpm and mph difference is almost the same.

I haven't had a chance to demo the prop yet, has anyone tried out the 2773?
