We just picked up the new axis T22 and took it out yesterday and had a hard time getting the wave dialed in. We had 5 adults in the boat and front center and rear filled along with the 400 pound sacs. When the surfgate was engaged, the water was over the surfgate. In order to get the curl I had to drain some of the rear tanks. FYI the wedge was down. I figured with stock ballast in it, it would surf??? any thoughts?

Do you have any weight in the front of the boat? Any sac in the front will help elongate the wave and give it that curl our looking for... My setup is stock ballast plus 750s in back and 400 in front... Try wedge down first

stock hardtanks only isnt very much weight, neither are 400# sacs, did you try moving the 5 adults around at all? like all to the rear all to the front or 2 up front 3 in the rear etc? and the water will always go over the gate, atleast mine does a bit no matter how much weight im running

You probably just need more weight and more forward as well. I run wedge, stock ballast, 900's in lockers, 650 under bow and probably another 500 under port side dash as we all ride regular. Surfs great.

10.8-11.5mph calibrated, at least 750's in the rear (900's would be better), wedge down, stock tanks full, and maybe a 400-65lb sack in the bow to stretch out the wake but not entirely necessary. Bottom line, you don't have enough rear weight and speed is probably an issue. Axis is probably the easiest wake boat to set up surfing or wakeboarding...too easy

Water depth is huge too. I ride in areas where it goes anywhere from 6'-14'. The difference in the wave is crazy. 6' no wave. 14' big wave. I load my t22 with 3200 lbs evenly weighted and wedge down.

Hey JB,

I have the base motor (350) and stock prop (2249). Typically run a lighter crew (4), but have had 10 on the boat with same setup for surfing.

Upgrade your rear sacks to 750's. Put a 400lb sack in the bow walkway. Have your crew sit on the surf side. 10.6-11mph with wedge down, all ballast full.
