Has anyone rode both the Doomswell nubstep and drone? I'm looking for some comparison between the 2 of them. I've been recommended both by different people as the best hybrid surfer. I'm looking for a mix of surf and skim for my next board.

I have been looking to bringing them in. I'll keep an eye on the feedback. If anyone decides they want specific boards let me know and that will force me to do an order sooner than later.

Nub-step has been getting great reviews

I have talked with Brock at Doomswell and he recommended the Nubstep. I also talked with Raya one of there them riders and she said Drone I think both boards similar in performance. I also talked with them about becoming a wholesale dealer for them this year so that may be an option for me this year.

is the only difference the tail shape? surely the bottoms and rails are the same

They are very similar in shape. The nub says it has a diamond tail.

I have a Drone which I really like. I have also ridden the Neo and a Big Step (maybe discontinued now.) Of those three I would get the Neo if I had to do it again, followed by the Drone in close second. Sorry I can't give you an opinion on the Nub Step. If you call Brock I think he will point you in the right direction.

I attached a couple pictures of my Drone. Not in the picture are the Futures Wakesurf Fins I put on. I only use the thruster fins. I really like these fins over the basic Futures fins.
