Wondering if the 350hp moonson is enough to get out of the hole an A22 with full ballast, pnp rear 900 lbs + front, wedge down + 4 people or additional fatsac? High torque propeller and I ride at 1000 mts above sea level.
Any feedback is highly appreciated
Tvm!

At 1000 meters above sea level you'll be losing approx 35 horsepower. 2014 350 engine had the old gear ratio, the 2015 350 got the aggressive "tractor" gearing as everyone calls it. IF, and that's a big IF, the 2014 350 engine could do it, it would struggle badly. That is an a lot of weight at that elevation for a 350 with the wedge. I had a 2011 A22 with 330 engine, 750's rear, bow sack, wedge, and extra 400lbs in the bow (which helps with firming the wake and helps with planing), using the Acme 1235 prop and 5 people it took forever to get on plane and I wasn't comfortable doing it often. I'm also at 500-600 feet elevation. I think you'd be better off looking for a pre-2015 A22 with a 410 or better yet the 450 for the weight and elevation you are wanting. The 2015 A22 with 350 would be much better.

Many Tks . Clear explanations
In fact the boat I'm evaluating to buy is from the end of 2014 and has the redesigned hull. Do you happen to know it has already the tractor gear ratio? Or only the ones made in 2015?
I've attached a pic.
All the best

do you have access to the build sheet or serial off of the drive? with the newer tower, wetsounds sp2 etc. its a 2015 so probably has the newer ratio

That's definitely a 2015 year model A22 hull and tower. The 2015 boats started to be built in July or August of 2014. The fact that you said you were looking at the boat at the end of 2014 probably means the dealer already had it delivered so it's a 2015. Do you have access to the VIN number of the boat? Also, see if you can find out the prop model. The 4 digit model number is stamped onto the center hub of the prop if you are not familiar with that. Kind of odd they went with the green trailer instead of white. The green is the flat green that doesn't match the metal flake green. Dealers usually get the trailers to match the base hull color which is white in this case. Bad error on their part but the boat is beautiful. My friends have the same colors on their T23 and looks great in the sun.

Many tks. He told me the propeller is the hi torque but he doesn't have the reference.....so the tractor w the new gear ratio is strong enough to get it out the hole? Many thanks for all the explanation . Odd this trailer color.
Tks!

You might have to drain a little water out of the rear 900's to get on plane easier. and using the wedge. The wedge adds a lot of drag when running heavy and trying to plane. Best to add an additional 400lb sac in the bow area to help balance the weight when planing. Axis boats need a lot of extra bow weight if running heavy in the rear. An added benefit of the extra bow weight will be a much more firm wake face to launch off of. The new 350 gearing should get it done but don't expect it to easily pop on plane instantly but not near as bad as the older 350 gearing.

Having the 2015 A22 w/ 350 and a 2012 A22 w/ 450 which one would you pick? Both of them are in great conditions. Surf tabs only in the 2015, the rest of the options are pretty much the same. Many tks for the advice
