I'll 2nd doing the winterization yourself. Though I was an ASE certified mechanic in college, it's really not that hard to do, especially if you read these forums and watch a few you-tube videos. The major downside is that while doing your own work will NOT void your warranty, if something ever does go wrong the dealer will try to throw you under the bus (boat?), so keep that in mind.

In regards to built in battery chargers, this is a must in my book. Maybe everyone near me is an idiot, but I can't count the number of dead batteries I've seen at the boat launch, or guys that had to cancel a trip because something got left on and the battery is dead. Every time my boat comes home I plug it into the wall so I know that it is good to go any time (I also top off the tanks before I put it away as well). On that same note, as was mentioned in an earlier post, if you're going to leave your batteries outside for the winter you might as well throw them away.

Just my two cents.

Funny comment about the batteries and I'm not arguing but my batteries in my RV (left outside 365 days a year) last 4 plus years normally. They are nothing special just a decent car battery but they never need the cold cranking amps so maybe that changes thing?

Fours years? Good for you. Maybe I've just had bad luck or I'm paranoid about having a dead battery on the lake, but I still take my batteries inside each winter and keep them on a digital trickle charger.

I have seen both cases. I do the same....I pull my batteries in the winter and put them inside on a trickle charger. Also, I didn't charge my batteries any this summer. The alternator on the boat does all the charging I need. I turn my batteries off when I pull the boat off the lake each evening. We don't spend much time at party cove though. Mostly we are riding.
