I have a 2015 Boatmate for my T22. After 6 months I'm getting a kind of bang sound when I hit my breaks. I know it's the pressure break system in the tongue but it never made that noise before. Any thoughts? Plan to run it by dealer but I wanted to ask if anyone else had this issue.

It's a lot if metal on metal so I expected to hear the bang sound when I brake and accelerate from s stop. Turn the radio up a bit and problem solved [emoji106]

If it feels weird then check it out. Don't let the noise be the deciding factor. They all make noise.

Sounds like a stupid question but are you sure the trailer brakes are working? I had the master cylinder (think thats what its called) go out in my previous boatmate and it made all kinds of noise when stopping. You can tell if the tongue can be pushed in by hand.

Check the brake fluid in the trailer and add if necessary. Are you sure it's not just slack or some play in your receiver when you hit the brakes making the clunk sound?

Does it do it every time or just the first time after it sits?

Could be play in your reciever or your ball could be loose.

Yeah I hate it when my ball gets loose... Bwahahaha. That just hit me really funny....

You could use the surge brake override key that came with your trailer paperwork and ride around with that installed and see if it changes the noise at all. Maybe that could narrow down what you're thinking is making the noise.

With the trailer unhooked check for play up and down and in and out in the receiver hitch if it has some there are multiple options, my thru lock was tight which would be in and out play but I had up and down movement letting the trailer bounce more than it should have. I cant find the kit that I bought on ebay but it included one of these https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Accessor ... /RSCP.html and some shims that slid into the receiver and took away all of my problems of thumping when taking off and bouncing etc.

The use of a cushioned hitch eliminated all of the thump on stopping or accelerating with my truck.
