This is not always the case. I am probably the easiest customer to deal with and one of the biggest Axis fans. My dealer had my 2015 for six weeks during the middle of summer. I received multiple excuses, blaming Malibu and PCM for the delay. My issue ended up being resolved within a week after I reached out to PCM (they let me know they hadn’t heard about it). I’m glad it was resolved but having my boat for six weeks for an easy fix is not justified.

I probably would have bought another boat this year from the same dealer because my sales experience was awesome. But after the service experience my motivation to purchase another boat was halted. Dealers need to understand that service is a huge part of customer retention. Make sure your good customers are taken care of. The Service, Pro shop and sales all need to be sync to run the business. If not, you aren’t going to retain customers.

Yup I'm that same guy... or sure try to be. Sometimes to laid back is interpreted as you dont care so take as much time as you want. I have found telling people your expectations while being the laid back guy tends to work.

3 weeks and counting... No call or update from dealer regarding when the boat will be ready. I had to get a Malibu service rep. involved to get the process going. Parts hadn't even been ordered after more than two weeks. Like elc stated, I LOVE my AXIS, but service is part of the deal. Poor service leads to unhappy customers not repeat buyers. Hope this situation has a positive ending -

My dealer goes above and beyond when it comes to service. Dropped off the boat on Monday of this week and got an email by Wednesday morning saying that they were able to get it winterized and in storage before all of the rain hit in our area. I always make sure to give them plenty of notice when I plan on bringing it in though. We are about 70 miles from them and I'll make the drive even though we have a local Axis/Bu dealer a couple miles down the road. I don't mind driving a few extra miles when I know I'll be taken care of.

Dropped my boat off at 10:00 for oil change and 3 to 4 warranty items... went to Hula Hut for some beers... done by 1500... just like Jayman; I schedule the appointment in advance and let them know my expectations up front... they always knock it out of the park!

1st class dealership with world class service (and people)... that's why we have purchased 3 boats from them and stuck with the Malibu/Axis brand... period.

I'm envious of your situation Alexandera. Mention your dealer, I'm sure he would like to be recognized for his good service record. Long Lake Marina in Naples Maine has had my boat since Oct. 15th (5 weeks) and it seems like it's one story after another. And yes, I had an appointment and was told they could start addressing the issues. FRUSTRATING.

The dealer Alexandera and myself use is Texas Malibu. I was with him the day he got his recent service. Also, when we walked in the staff told us to take a few free Malibu t-shirts before we leave. Love how well we get treated.

Awesome to see good service is still out there.

update... Its been six weeks since Long Lake Marina has had my boat. I was just informed that it should be ready my the middle of next week. I'd hate to see how long it would take them to address a major repair. Hope the heater core, engine, and ballast pumps have been properly winterized like they said they were doing.

That's beyond ridiculous to have a boat that long for routine work and/or even a few minor warranty items. I have a friend who was new to boating and his first boat was a pre-owned 2004 Malibu LSV a handful of years ago. Twice he did not winterize his boat, twice he did crate engine swaps for cracked block and manifold, and twice a complete rewire of his stereo system for leaving it uncovered in his driveway for months over the fall/winter in the rain and ice (yes he's not very responsible). Our dealer (Texas Malibu) had him in and out in less than a month during Spring Break time during the rush of new sales and prepping, de-winterizing boats for summer, and routine boat service. In addition, he didn't even buy his used boat from them.
