Seems like a lot of Pro wakeboard people in this discussion. I'm 41 and started a bit late to the water sports game. I grew up riding bmx and skateboarding then started snowboarding at about 23. I have a wakeboard and a skate but my passions is surfing. I have no want to even try a wake to wake. I don't want to risk an injury. My knees have never been injured... but after 4 - 5 hours of snowboarding my knees are done. When I surf I ride until my knees start to scream at me which is usually about 3 sets, and then I ride a bit more.
If you think surfing isn't exciting try being on the boat when someone nails their first 360.

If your knees hurt after surfing you may need to get check out. Your quads or calf's might burn a little, but not quite sure why your knees would hurt.

Damn guys, this is starting to read like wakeworld. I'll just say my friends and I all prefer wakeboarding, we save surfing for when the lake is blown out or there are too many other boats out. To me, surfing just isn't nearly as exciting.
