Axis boats have the free floating wedge. I was thinking, what if you put a Lenco actuator on it? Could that work to make a "hillbilly power wedge". I love to use my wedge for wakeboarding. Just seems that with the wedge down it makes it really hard to get on plane. So if you could get up to boarding speed then lower the wedge with a lenco actuator and switch, bingo. Kind of like a reverse trim tab lol. Do you guys think this could work, or just a terrible, un educated idea? I'm no engineer but just a thought.
Instead of a $9k motor upgrade, a 1k DIY to be able to run more ballast.

You could spend less than $1k to get some amazing pumps that would fill/empty your boat fast enough (under 1 minute at 60 gallons per minute or more) so that you can get on plane and then fill bags (and when rider falls, drain them plenty quickly and refill when on plane).

Personally I would just do a pull pin that you could easily pull while boat is underway to drop wedge.

I don't think I'd drop it after taking off, that sounds like a good way to rip your transom off

My guess is it would bend it when it slams against the wedge stop bolts. I am curious, who is going to try it?

I think power wedge 2 should be an option on axis like I don't care how much it costs cause it would definitely be worth it. I woundered of you could buy a power wedge from Malibu or through the dealer and just mount it on an axis because the 4 bolt holes look to be the same.

I was told malibu specifically says axis will never get it as they want malibu to have better technology..

I think if boat is in motion it won't slam against them?? Idk though.. I would not try it but I was just throwing out ideas.
