I agree, then there's the beer drinking surfer. To me that's comparable to a wakeboarder just going heel side w2w all day and everyone in the boat going "WOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

All surfers and wakeboarders should be drinking beer. It's the boat. Just unnatural to not have a beer!!

True that...always have 2 half gallons of Parrot Bay and Corona or Dos XX (cans only) onboard

You are 100% right AJ! I just think it's very unfortunate. I grew up doing slalom/trick/knee and we used to surf behind an 89 Nautique on a 5'6" Local Motion back in 1999. But, even then it was just to mess around we didn't think of it as a legit sport. Even though it is fun. :D

My first wakesurf experience was in 1992 when I had a used direct drive Malibu and met a couple fireman trainees in Austin, Texas that were from Long Beach, CA. They had a longboard with them and showed me what they did in The Delta in Cali. In 1989-1993 in college it was all about running balls in our Ski Brendella

Anybody who talks about themselves like that is probably "sending it" to their face! haha. Be humble!

Whoa whoa slow down there buddy..... Freeway terrain park in breckenridge the SMALLEST jump is a 50 footer. I'm from MN so snow sports are a big deal here so maybe were your from it sounds like bragging but on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 bring most difficult sending off a 50 footer is like a 3 or 4.

I am the farthest thing from someone who brags about my abilities. I was just trying to point out how it sounded like surfing was being called out as a sport for people are not interested in progressing or pushing limits.

Sounds like the problem is your friends are lame! We surf 99% of the time and we are all snowboarders who have no problems sending it off a 50 footer. We are pushing it as hard as we can 100% of the time.

@Vanamp as I said earlier, very little surfing has been happening behind my boat. Keep going off 50 footers buddy.

Not sure why I am getting roasted for saying my friends and I will send it off a 50 footer. In wakeboard terms hitting a 50 footer on a snowboard is probably equivalent to a wake to wake 360. Not a big deal.

The point was you said most people seam complacent just trying to stay in the pocket when wake surfing and I was just pointing out that that is a problem on YOUR BOAT not a problem with wake surfing.

If we can't agree that progression is possible in wake surfing then can we just change the name of this thread to "I have a boner for wakeboard please come and stroke it"?

@Vanamp, no problems on my boat, that's why I go to the lake. My "lame friends" as you suggested are usually my wife and kids. We occasionally surf but I do see a lot of OTHER BOATS strolling along with a happy surfer behind it and that's great! I hope they progress to 360's or whatever tricks a wake surfer strives to achieve. I have a wakesurf board in the racks for anyone that wants to try it. Someday I may take it as serious as some here but for now it's seems like a novelty to ME.

To the original poster, sorry for clogging this thread.

A novelty...I heard that word a lot back in the day when I started snowboarding.

But back on topic. I bought my boat to wakeboard I wanted to be a wakeboarder but some of the most painful slams I have taken this decade have been on a wakeboard and I can't even w2w.

I tend to try wakeboarding only on Sunday's because I know I won't ruin my weekend with a slam. Maybe I'm just getting too old.
