I was on day 2 of a 5 day trip, 40 miles from the marina, when the service required light flashed on shortly after going to WOT after the engine was warm. Pushing a button shut it off, but then it would return 5 minutes later. I checked for codes, there were none. I reset it by turning the battery off. It returned again the next day, same situation. After resetting again, it never came back on. Called the dealership from the lake and they had no solution other than to reset it. Meanwhile, the boat ran perfectly fine. Taking it in this week but curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Also, had two other issues that seemed to resolve and wonder if anyone has any insight. The first is that my speedometer read 0 mph when I was clearly not going zero. This was shortly after getting into a bit of mud in about 1.5 feet of water per the depth gauge. Cycling to cruise control and back seemed to resolve the issue. Never happened again.

Also, while surfing on the R side, the R surf gate seemed to be out when it shouldn't. Flipping the switch to left and then back to right seemed to fix the issue.

Any ideas for these minor but annoying issues?

I had a service engine, but no code on my 15' T23. It was being thrown by high exhaust temps. There is a software update from Malibu that a dealer can flash your ECU with. It wasn't while I was going, but after running it hard, shutting it down and letting the heat soak into the exhaust system and then starting back up. I would say 1-3 mins in between shutdown and restart and it would happen every time. After my relish, it's only happened 1 time vs 8-10 times per outing.

I wonder if you are just heat soaking the exhaust to the point it's throwing the warning alarm while running WOT.

I guess it's possible, but this wasn't necessarily after running hard and shutting down. More like idling along for 5 minutes after start up, then going to WOT.

Wouldn't there be a code for that?

Mine was throwing codes after 5-10 minutes of running full throttle. Then alarm would go off every few minutes to service engine with no codes the whole way home. switching batteries off helped. I think it is a re-flash issue. I will find out at next service.

For sure a re-flash of ECM to reset parameters of exhaust temp sensor. I had mine done 2 weeks ago.

Re-flash computer for exhaust temp issue. Known issue by most if not all dealers.

I highly recommend running the boat with the engine compartment blower going.

Okay, so I call the service guy today to check on the boat. He says they've got it fixed up. He said the only code was a "fuel pressure sensor" and the problem was that it had run out of gas. In fact, he told me they had to raise the bow in order to start it. So I'm like, "Uhhh....no, that's not it." Not only has it never been within 13 gallons of an empty tank, but it had a 2/3 full tank when the light first came on. When I dropped it off Tuesday it had at least 1/4 of a tank (My wife swears half). Not to mention it has been run 15-20 hours since the check engine light came on. He said he'd talk to the technician and call me tomorrow. I told him that was a good idea.

Then he told me I should be running 91 octane in it. I told him the manual says 87. Not to mention that it isn't knocking. It's running fine. And if that were the case, I'd expect a different code than "fuel pressure." Last I checked, the "pressure" of 87 is the same as 91.

What are you guys putting your boats?

We run lots of weight 4k plus people. Boat has 140 plus hours since May. Started out with 87 from marina was fine early on but when really give boat a workout it's no go. I'm fortunate to have 93 octane non ethanol in my town. That is what I run most the time with zero problems. 91 octane is the bare minimum and even then I get service required occasionally.

I run 87 octane in mine with no issues at all. I run it loaded down also.
